As we continue to expand our network of freelance experts, we’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Medior Security Consultant. This role is ideal for someone who brings both strategic insight and operational execution to the table. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders, leading or contributing to mid-sized projects, and translating regulatory requirements into practical and business-friendly security measures.

Whether you’re supporting short-term engagements or stepping into a longer-term outsourced role, your contribution will help clients embed robust cybersecurity practices into their day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll take on a variety of responsibilities, such as:

• Designing and implementing security controls aligned with ISO 27001, NIS2, or DORA requirements

• Leading or supporting risk assessments, compliance readiness checks, and internal audits

• Drafting and maintaining policies, SOPs, and incident response documentation

• Assisting clients with third-party and vendor risk management

• Mentoring junior consultants and coordinating smaller workstreams

• Delivering clear, structured outputs in collaboration with senior advisors

• Monitoring evolving regulations and translating them into client-specific guidance

A medior-level freelance consultant or self-employed professional with 5-7 years of relevant experience

• Solid experience in information security, risk management, or IT governance

• Working knowledge of ISO 27001, NIS2, DORA, or similar security and compliance frameworks

• Able to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical internal controls or security measures

• Experience contributing to cross-functional projects and coordinating with stakeholders

• Comfortable communicating in Dutch or French, and English

• Based in the EU or USA, with flexibility to work remotely across time zones

• Brings a proactive, structured approach with a strong sense of responsibility and growth mindset

• Willingness to travel (occasionally)
