Location: Flanders, Brussels, Wallonia (remote/hybrid/on-site depending on client)
Engagement: Freelance – minimum 2 days/week or project-based
Languages: Native/fluent Dutch or French + working knowledge of English

As we continue expanding our freelance network, we’re looking for a motivated and curious Junior Security Consultant. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on project experience while developing a strong foundation in cybersecurity and IT compliance. You’ll be working closely with senior experts, contributing to client assignments, and learning how to translate theory into practice — step by step.

You’ll grow into a key player helping clients build practical, secure, and compliant environments — whether you’re contributing to a one-off assessment or assisting with an ongoing engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Junior Freelance Security Professional, your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with readiness scans, gap analyses, and compliance checklists

• Helping draft or improve security procedures, policies, and response playbooks

• Supporting the follow-up of compliance tasks and monitoring of security logs

• Maintaining templates, registers, and internal security documentation

• Participating in security awareness and basic training sessions

• Gaining practical insight into frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIS2, and DORA

• Working alongside senior consultants and liaising with client teams

A junior-level freelance consultant or self-employed professional with 2-4 years of relevant experience

• Initial hands-on experience or strong academic background in information security, risk management, or IT governance

• Basic familiarity with ISO 27001, NIS2, DORA, or similar frameworks

• Eager to learn how to apply legal and regulatory requirements in a practical business or IT environment

• Experience supporting internal teams or projects, with a collaborative working style

• Communicates clearly in Dutch or French, and English

• Based in the EU or USA, with ability to work remotely

• Brings a proactive attitude, is organised, and motivated to develop as a trusted security professional
